HAS THIS BLOG DIED? NO, IT HAS NOT.

First of all, I would like to recognize that it has been a horribly long time since the last time me or Rixis posted. I know both of us have been EXTREMELY busy. I was gone for five weeks only to be whisked off on an impromptu trip for another week almost immediately, so I had virtually no time to post.

I would just like to say that I had a fantabulous time on my vacation! For those who don't know, I was off to a CTY camp in Maryland for three weeks, then toured along the Northern east coast for another two weeks (we hit a lot of Ivy League colleges, including Harvard, Yale, and Princeton. For those of you who do not know, the famed statue of "Harvard" is not really John Harvard at all, but some random dude they found because they had no images of John Harvard).
Afterwards, I was extremely lucky and was invited to go visit the Friday Harbor Labs, at San Juan Island. The cool thing about this was that I got a "marine biologist's pass" of sorts, so I was able to participate in beach seines and night lighting. I also learned the important life skill of skipping fish. Small flatfish and perch are the easiest.

So, that's the super boring update post for today. Hopefully tomorrow I'll be back on a roll.
