Two "WHAAAT?!"s here.
- Google changed its logo, which it hasn't done since the ancient era of twenty-ten. Whaaaat?!
- I'm posting. Whaaat?!
'Sup, guys! I know I haven't posted in like ten billion million years, even though I said I would post more, and I'm very sorry to be so untrue to my word. Very sorry.
Okay, so I know probably EEEVERYBODY has been posting about Google's new logo change, since it's such an influential company, and nobody wants to read a bunch of text, but here goes.
So, if you are a user of a search engine other than Google, you may or may not know that Google changed it's logo typesetting, including that of it's smaller components (or whatever they're called) including Google+, the Google search engine, and more.
BUT WHYYY?? According to Google's blog, it's because this new logo would be recognizeable across all platforms, from smartphones to computers. It makes sense in the way that a modern, innovative company would have a modern, innovative logo.
But it's not.
And I hate it.

Personally, I loved Google's old logo. To me, it was ironic in a way that the old serif typeface heralded such a new concept. The new logo looks less intelligent, almost like children's refrigerator magnets. The old logo, to me, was much more elegant and purdy.
Since this logo change seems to be the first visual adjustment since Google became a branch of Alphabet, I expect many people will be having mixed feelings of what's to come.
